ABOUT US
Hi there,
My name is Daniel, a South African who moved to Panama with my family in September of 2019.
With your assistance our future amazing team of paw sanctuary volunteers will be committed to helping animals not just in our immediate community, but the wider Chiriqui province, and across Panama as a whole.
We have strong convictions and will be turning them into action.
"NO PAW LEFT BEHIND" is a powerful and very bold statement...but the need is GREAT and with your help we can make this a reality in our country.
OUR HISTORY
We are still in the very beginning of this amazing project, but it actually all started in December of 2019 with a little abandoned puppy called Lola who was saved by Kirsten Quimby who supports a local shelter here called DogCamp.
We JUST arrived to settle in Panama and my wife Tanya saw this post about Lola needing a foster or forever home. We fell in love with this little angel and decided to provide her with a forever home.
...AND THEN THERE WERE TWO
Shortly after, we thought it would be great for Lola to have a playmate. Before we knew it...we saw a post on FaceBook by Fran Hogan about a little 3 month old staffie she named Lucy.
Lucy just arrived at her door seemingly lost and starving, and so she temporarily took her in searching for a forever home. We went to have a look at her, and well, she came home with us that very day...
ANIMALS WILL BE OUR MISSION
We are very much still in the planning stages with something that has become a dream and an obsession. We will be focusing on making a big impact in the wider Panama. I see too many cases of animals who cannot be helped because local shelters are often over capacity. It is really painful and disturbing to witness the posts and pleas for help by private individuals and existing shelters, with some who simply CAN NOT be helped...
MORE needs to be, -and CAN be done, but done on SCALE, like never before seen in Panama. This is my own little rescue pack (from left to right): Susie, Lassie, Cali, Lucy, Lola, old boy Benji and then Tank.
DR ANDRES TELLO- PANAMA VET
Our friends at DogCamp received some calls and messages from people who needed to contact Dr. Tello and needed help for their animals. Like always, we were happy to help in some way.
For us, Dr. Andres Tello is a real and true animal lover, it's NOT just a job for him.
Local shelters have used him for 8 years in Panama, in different ways, also taking animals to the spay clinics where he works (Boquete, David and Volcan), taking animals to the Costa Rica border all the time, animals that are really sick, animals with tumors or animals that were hit by cars and need surgery.
During all these years, thanks to Dr. Tello, we could help a lot of animals to have a second chance.
He adopted two dogs from our friends at DogCamp Boquete and found great homes for other dogs that came from via DogCamp.
This time we invite you to know a little more about this incredible person who, like he says, this is not a job, this is what he really loves to do!! HELP ANIMALS!
Thank you so much for all your help Dr. Andres Tello
